what do you consider low cost? what state are you? I mean in Vegas you can get a decent meal or even a buffet for less than $10. I would recommend a buffet for you. your local phone book will have some listed Hometown Buffet, Chinese food buffet. Diners have good prices and good food. Cooking at home can get expensive especially cooking for 1 and if you don't have ingredients already in the cabinet. The relatives suggestion was good, just bring the dessert.
