  1. We use clear contact paper. It's very simple to cover the outside cover of the paperback book. It's also a cheap way to protect your book as well.

  2. A local office supply store, and most schools and churches have lamination machines, and will do your personal lamination projects for a small fee.

You'll have to take the book apart first to laminate it, and then re-assemble it.

Note: lamination films vary in thickness.  The thinner lamination would allow you to re-assemble your book and turn the pages easily, but the thicker films would make the pages very stiff.  If you want the very stiff pages, you may have to put them into a notebook with page holders, or punch holes in them.
