How to get a patent?

me and a friend came up with what we think is a great slogan/design for a bumper sticker t shirt etc. for things like this is a patent needed if so how do you go about getting one and so on, and also if it is something that we would try and market any tips on that thanks

I don't think patents cover slogans / graphic designs. Have a look at http://www.patentengineers.com  It explains what can be patented and what can't.

oh i was going to do it before, check out a lawyer and they will guide u through the whoel thing, i'll answer the rest of ur q if u answer mine
