You have to complete a FAFSA (I'll link to it) and the financial aid application for your school.  Your school will then tell you if you are eligible for a Pell Grant when they offer you a financial aid package.  Sometimes they run out of funding, so it is best to apply early.

FAFSA - Look it up. Fill it out and it will let you know if you're eligible.

When you complete your FAFSA, it will give you what is called an EFC score and let you konw if you are eligible. The lower the score, the more funds you can get. right now Pell grants range from $400 (with an EFC of around 4110) to $4310 per AID YEAR (with a 0 EFC score).
