  1. First off, your problem is your name being "Burton Rider" that right there says you no nothing about the sport.

Just like the other guy said, if you don't want to be traveling don't get sponsored.

Another thing, the biggest of them all is, even really good kids, some of the best kids I ride with, ride for signal, rome, burton [thumbs down], and a few other companies, and none of them are forced to travel, because of their rank, yeah sure top pros are definitaly going to be expected to travel, but untill you get there, its nothing like that, usually its just them helping you, giving you products [flow teams] or just having you compete locally even as a AM you are not forced to travel most likely.

Now I know you are asking this question because you are probably a 12 year old that believes everyone that rides a burton and can boardslide is good and should be sponsored, and your mommy wont let you travel so you think you can find a sponsor that will just give you boxes and boxes of free things.. you have to become so good and get so far in this industry before they would do anything like that, my friend is on the signal AM and right now gets alotted only so many boards and items per year, and thats AM which is about the second highest you can be in snowboarding.

I don't mean to hate on you, but don't go thinking that because you can boardslide you'll be sponsored, its not even just about tricks these days, its about style as well. Best of luck with you and your snowboarding career but its best not to keep thinking the way you are.

  2. do local comps, check your local shops etc. send a video to some companies, talk to reps.  I personally believe you should just go out and have fun! Don't chase the sponsorship, let it come to you.

  3. if your going to be sponsored without travel you'd have to have your local shops or mountain sponsor you. Usually you only have to travel around if your a competing snowboarder or if you have an unusually good talent.
