I will be spending about 3 weeks each in saudi and egypt. I have a mobile phone that would work, but how do I go about getting a temporary line. Is it easy? Should I get a different line in each country so ppl wont pay a lot to call me? How much to rent a line (if thats what u call it)?

  1. i would go pick up a cheap disposable phone in each country

  2. I use travelcell.com whenever I go abroad!  Free incoming too :)

  3. I guess you can get the cheapest prepaid sim card in each country, I always go to the first telecommunications shop in the airport when I get off the plane and ask the guy working there for the cheapest prepaid sim card.

  4. ......since you'll not stay any longer you can buy prepaid sim card in saudi arabia thru mobily and aljawal cente. They already have extra load in it and just buy extra prepaid cards if its already consumed.....

  5. In KSA, you can get prepaid cards from either Mobily or Jawal.  I don't know which is cheaper per minute, but I know right now Jawal is having a deal that you pay 150 riyals for the SAWA prepaid card and you get 195 riyals credit.  Also, when you charge the SAWA card with 300 riyals, they will give you 450 riyals credit.  Normally when you charge the SAWA card with 300 riyals, you get 333 credit.

Yes, if you get the prepaid card, they will give you a phone number.
