  1. You can create a free website with Microsoft Office Live Small Business - http://tinyurl.com/olsbfree . Currently, MS is offering a free domain name (ie. yoursite.com) for the first year. It has 500mb of storage and no ads. It also has a free online web design tool that allows you to create web pages without coding.

  2. i use piczo.com fantastic free use as much as you want video audio pics friends - look at mine www.piczo.com/rachelscott20

  3. Hey Gumboot20,

I have also just recently gotten into making websites, it is very exciting!

For starters you will want to buy the domain name. I personally use GoDaddy. They have a simple search option on there front page where you can check the availability of domain names.

Once you find one that you like and that is vacant, buy it! You will have to make an account with them. It will be around $9.00 for a year of registration. Pretty cheap! Oh yea, I recommend getting a ".com", ".net", or ".org" address. They have more credibility in most cases.

Once you have purchased your domain, you will need to set up hosting. I personally use Host Gator and have been happy with it so far. There are a few different plans (hatchling, baby, and swamp). They all offer different options, storage, and bandwidth. Which one you pick will depend on your needs. I used the middle one (baby) since I am not too knowledgeable about websites yet, but want to be able to expand later on. The price is $7.95 a month for the middle plan.

After you buy that, you will need to get the DNS (Name Server) numbers for your Host Gator account. I believe they email it to you. They are 2 lines of text that you need to link your hosting with your domain name.

Under the options in GoDaddy you will be able to input custom nameservers. Input the ones that you got from Host Gator.

It may take some time for them to link up, but once they are, you are ready to go! The links for the two sites are in the sources section of this answer. Hope this helps you, good luck!
