How to get a work permit during summer in California?

I want to work this summer. I'm currently 15 and will be 16 in a month. How do I get a work permit (california)?

Even though classes are not in session, the offices of most schools stay open during the summer to handle new registrations and get ready for the next school year. You can just go to your school and get a form.
