How to get additional tv channels in bedroom?

Question

Hey, is there any way to get extra channels in my bedroom eg. music channels without sky etc, as my house doesnt have sky or cable etc, which makes TV so boring with 5 channels.I live in L'derry, Northern Ireland, and apparently this area is not ready yet for the little digital boxes.Is there any alternatives?

without cable or sattelite? nope. but if you search the internet there are tons of streaming tv stations, and you can watch alot of primetime shows on the internet too. perhaps you can hook your tv monitor up to your computer?

your area doesn't have anything to do with being ready or not.  As far as I know satellite providers like direct tv or dish network can be used almost anywhere (even little islands in the middle of the ocean)  I'd check their websites and see if there's a way to get them to hook you up.  Other than that, I don't know of anyway that you can get specific cable channels with out the boxes

You could get a sat dish and receiver from Lidel , ( portable meant for motor homes etc ) or from a camping store , this will allow you to get free to view channels on which ever satellite your receiver allows , other option is to get some of the TV Chanel's that are available over the net , go ogle free TV ,
