How to get an A&P Licence form FAA.....?

I am an Aeronautical Engineer in India. I want to know the details regarding the FAA licences and its eligibilities, Can anybody help me to get that..........?

The requirements to get an A&P license are listed on the FAA's website at this URL. http://www.faa.gov/mechanics/become/basi...  You would need to either have a specified amount of experience working on aircraft or go to an FAA part 147 school and then take the appropriate tests.  The licenses allow you to sign off on minor repairs and alterations to US registered aircraft.  I am not sure how India's aviation system works relative to the United States, however.


  2. Unfortunately, even though you are educated in much of the subject matter and more, you will need to either go to school or find a job as an apprentice in the USA for 30 months before you can take the tests.

    As it is very difficult to find an apprenticeship, it's better to go to school. They will review your courses and may cut time off at their discretion. Depending on the school, it can take 16-24 months to complete the full curriculum. Good luck.
