  1. The agent doesn't "do everything for you."  And you can't just "join SAG."

In order to get an agent, you have to have the skills that they can sell.  In other words, you need to have training and experience.  They're not going to want to represent someone without them.

After you have those, you send your headshot and resume to the agent and request representation.

  2. The agent will do eveyrthing for you. However, DO NOT pay any agent. There are a lot of liers and fraudulent people. They will glorify you and take your money away as their fees to make a file for you.

There are a lot of way to do things. You can join SAG and advertise yourself or get jobs in craigslist and so on.

  3. Look online and talk to people!

  4. You have it all backwards. FIRST you have to get some training and learn how to act. Don't make the mistake and think that you get an agent first and then you will become a star. If you think like that, you risk becoming another statistic of an aspiring actor that never makes it. In fact, I made another video on that subject, because I see it all the time.

Have a look at this page on my website for new and aspiring actors. On it you will find 23 links to pages that have to do with different aspects of starting an acting career including 23 benefits of taking acting classes, how to choose an acting school, why you need an agent and what they can do for you, how to go about getting an agent. http://www.actingcareerstartup.com/teen_...

    Good luck!
