How to get an oil stain out of my sister's silk dress?

i just got some oil stains from chips on my sister's dress that I am wearing right now. should I try to get it out now, or just take it to the dry cleaners later? will the dry cleaner get it out. they are little specks of oil stains? thanks guys

  1. I would get some dryell from the store.  It is a way to do dry cleaning yourself in your clothes dryer.  In the pack, they have a stain remover/fabric treatment bottle and some foam-like paper pads.  I would treat the oil spots according to the directions on the dryell box and then run it through the dry cleaning air dry method in the dryer.   I've had great experiences with this method on silks.


  2. Take it to the cleaners, just point out the stains so they are aware of them and don't set them in.

  3. Dish soap will remove the oil but I would take the dress to the dry cleaners.  Since it is not yours you don't want to risk trying to clean it yourself.
