Is there a way to not have to pay your employees overtime in the state of texas? I am asking because my employer does not pay time and a half for over 40+ hours. How can he legally do that?

  1. There are exemptions to paying over time in the State of Texas. I have provided a link for you to look at all of them. You can also go through this site and find out everything you need to know about it.

  2. I'd contact your local department of labor about this. I'm pretty sure what your employer is doing is illegal.

  3. He can't. The only reason he can continue is the probable implication that if you make trouble you just won't get any hours next cycle.
