Question:

How to get better at football? More physical...?

So iam 14, I play football and I need some tips on how to became a more physical player. Iam 5ft 8, 133 pounds, I run like a 5.3 (fourty yard dash) and I bench 135. So iam not like an amazing athlete but iam okay. I play alot of line on both sides of the ball and I dont know why but sometimes I just fee like I cant be physical, I dont like girl out of hits, i hit anything that comes near me but I wanna pack more of a punch to everything i do, and build more confidence in the sport as i do it, please help :)

  1. If you already haven't, you should start hitting the weight room, working out intensely 3 or 4 times a week.

    I am 5'5" but weigh 15 lbs more than you and I play cornerback.  So as a lineman, you should definately try to gain more muscle mass.  Be sure to drink a lot of water during your workouts and if you want, take whey protein with milk after your workouts.  Try to snack a lot of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and milk and try not to eat too much fast foods (burgers, fried chicken, etc)

    Other than the physical side of football, your attitude is most important.  You should feel pumped up and motivated to play and hit someone and mainly enjoy and love playing football.  The better you get, hopefully you start enjoying it more and wanna knock off some heads on gamedays
