Question:

How to get better radio reception??

All I wanna do when I'm going to bed at night is listen to ESPN Radio out of New York (1050 AM). I live in CT about an hour outside of NY, and I used to get great reception, but for the past couple months its just gotten steadily worse. I've tried buying different stereos/clock radios and none of them have worked. I just got the Boston Acoustics Receptor Radio and I can't get anything but static on the channel I want, but that same channel works perfectly clear with the same stereo just down the hall in my parents' room. Please help me find a solution to this problem. It's really getting me frustrated.

  1. TRY STRINGING A COPPER WIRE FROM THE ANTENNA OF YOUR RADIO. I HAD A SMALL RADIO AND WAS PICKING UP EUROPE FROM PA.

  2. It may be that it's summer and some AM stations change their hours and power with the change in sunrise and sunset. Heat can affect AM signals, too.

Your solution is the Select-A-Tenna. I've had one for years and it's great. Specifically for AM, order online at:

    www.selectatenna.com

  3. It might be that in the "past couple of months" a new interference has been added to the neighbourhood that's affecting your reception. If nothing else helps, you'll probably just have to find a good connection around the house that hopefully isn't only in your parents room.
