what's the best and easiest way to get blood out of a bedspread? it's already dried and i already tried putting cold water on it and it hasn't worked very well. i'd like to spot treat it if possible, since i do not have an opportunity to take it to the laundromat. also, i don't want to bleach it because the comforter is a deep yellow. thanks for any help!!!

  1. Learned this trick from a hospice nurse.  Take hydrogen peroxide and pour it on the spot.  You may want to put towels below it first as some of the blood drains down.  Anyway, dab it up, keep pour it on until you've gotten all the blood out.  Then just rinse the area in water and dry.

We did this on fresh blood, but she said it often will get out dried on blood as well.

  2. Pour peroxide on it blot it up keep doing this till stain is gone

  3. Hydrogen peroxide and/or oxy clean.  My fiance is a nurse and uses a combination of both anytime he gets blood on his clothes.  Put a towel under where the stain is and pour on some peroxide.  You'll instantly see it bubble up.  Let it sit for a minute and mix together a paste of oxyclean and water (leave it kind of thick).  Use another towel and dab off the peroxide, rub on the oxy clean mixture - I use an old toothbrush if the material can handle it- and gently scrub it in.  Again let it rest for a minute, then wipe off the paste.  Continue to repeat with the peroxide and paste until your stain is gone.  I've gotten blood out of pretty much anything this way - towels, sheets, jeans, shirts, etc...

    Good Luck!

  5. Hydrogen peroxide works on blood stains. It helps it you can rinse it well after you put it on.
