You can leave bicard soda on it wiht a bit of water and sometimes it can suck the stain up.

Actually, don't use alcohol on the carpet.  Alcohol tends to only work (and not that well) on natural fibers.  Carpet is made of synthetic fibers, so alcohol won't work.  Another thing to be careful of is using cleaning products or chemicals that are oxidants or oxidizing (bleach, peroxides, alcohols, etc).  That will make the stain worse and more difficult to remove (they'll basically cook the stains in).  Specifically look for a cleaning product that targets protien stains.

Also, AVOID cleaning products containing ammonia (or poisonous chemicals).  Ammonia will just attract your dog to that spot, and might even encourage him/her to urinate on it in the future (ammonia is in urine, and ammonia smells like urine to dogs).  Poisonous chemicals are obvious why you don't want to use them.

We used a product called FOLEX instant spot remover. My dog had dropped blood all over the carept after ripping his stitches out & I didn't go into the spare room for 2 days to find it. The blood was well set in & dried. I put dropped a few drops of Floex on it, wiped with a rag & it came right out like it had never been there. I got it at Home Hardware. It is non toxic & has no CFC or pertroleum.

Any ways back into business.. you can use alcohol like gin... don't drink it ;]... you can also use carpet cleaners i would suggest Bam. if you have it in your contry... anyways if you don't then use alcohol
