How to get burned stuff off non stick pan?

I burned some yams and it left some junk on the bottom of my non stick T-Fal pan. I soaked it overnight, scrubbed it, then soaked it in comet - nothing worked.

  1. You need some Bicarbonate of soda. You can buy it at the supermarket in the baking aisle. Sprinkle the bicarb all over the burned area, leave overnight, rinse off and repeat as many times as you like until the charred part goes away.

    Good luck

  2. The pan is likely ruined now.  I would just buy a new one.

  3. It is probably ruined - hence it is not a "non stick" any longer.  Try sprinkling some table salt and adding a little vinegar, and wash with a non-abrasive rag.  To avoid ruining future non-stick pans, don't heat on the highest heat, and don't go to temperature extremes (like putting a pan straight from the heat to cool water).  And the obvious, which is only using plastic or wood utensils to stir (no metal).

  4. Wash it using some Arm & Hammer Baking Soda.

  5. VINEGAR and HOT water will get rid of your problem! Just one inch of hot water in the pan with 2 cups of vinegar and soaked overnight should do the trick but you will have to lightly scrub it off with a soft sponge after the soaking method so you don't damage the pan.

    I hope all goes well!

  6. Put some bicarbonate of soda and small amount of chlorine bleach together with water in the pan and heat up until bubbling.  Leave to cool and wash with hot soapy water.

  7. If it didn't come clean after soaking in plain water your coating is probably no good anymore especially if you scrubbed it with comet.

  8. soak you pan again overnight in ordinary dish detergent and then using an old credit card try scrubbing it gently to get off the burnt stuff.

If it does not come off then you need another pan.
