How to get calcium/lime scale off of toilet?

I just moved and the toilet is nasty. I don't like to use chemicals to clean I've tried lemon juice, salt and baking soda and let it sit for 20 minutes, nothing! So as a last resort even though I hate it I bought some toilet cleaner "the works" because it doesn't really have too bad of a smell like bleach and it got some of it off, but not nearly enough. What else can I try? Remember I really don't want to resort to chemicals.

  1. Lime away comes to mind.

If you want to use a natural cleaner, try vinegar! That's what I use to get lime scale off other places.

    PDF document about it: http://www.kapiticoast.govt.nz/NR/rdonly...

  2. I know you dont want chemicals but really the only thing that works is a product called Sno Bol.  Its also a long necked bottle for cleaning the toilet bowl only it works better.

  3. sorry but the only thing u could use is bleach do u have a window in the bathroom if so open it pour bleach in and let it sit then spray some febreze or something if u don't like the smell

  4. To clean a toilet:

Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the toilet bowl. Let the "real thing" sit for one hour, then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous china.

I was told this works, though I have never tried it.
