How to get carpet glue off clothes?

my boyfriend always gets carpet glue on his clothe how can i get it off?

Lighter fluid or rubbing alcohol should remove it.

Well it all depends on the type of glue, and how "dry or set" it is.

Some years ago, I got some carpet glue on some the cuff of my pants, and in desperation, I soaked the stain (overnight) in plain old green Palmolive dish detergent and water 50/50, and with a little elbow grease, and some gentle scraping with butter knife blade I got it all off.
