  1. The best solution is to remove the carpet and then don't allow your kitty access to that area.

Even when you clean it they can still smell it.

Or put a throw rug over that area then you can just pick it up and wash it.

  2. steam clean your carpet with a product called odor ban  or simple green

  3. Old Guy = WRONG.

Simple Solution or similar products found in the Pet Store.  They actually neutralize and eliminate the odor rather than attempt to cover it.

  4. stanley steamer carpet cleaners, and some carpet fresh and fabreeze

  5. Regular carpet or upholstery cleaners will NOT work. You need something to break down the enzymes in the urine or f***s. Any pet supply store should carry something along those lines.

  6. Vinegar works, we've tried it before.

  7. There's a few products on the market like Resolve and others that will eliminate organic odors from carpet.  Look in the cleaning aisle of your favorite store for more options.  Just read the labels for Odor Removal.

  8. May use 1/3 cup vinegar in a 1-quart bottle filled with cool water or club soda and spray onto to pet stains to help remove the smell.

After cleaning the stain with club soda or cold water, blot the urine stain repeatedly to remove as much liquid as possible.

Pet ordor is a protein-based problem so you must use an enzyme product to digest the protein, particularly in urine.

Enzyme products can be purchased at pet supply stores, veterinary clinics and janitorial supply stores; Outright Pet Ordor Eliminator made by the Brampton Company and Nature's Miracle.

Cats and dogs will re-use an area to pee in again, since animals operate on smell.

Get ORDOUZOUT. A very good product that comes in a power form.

Or don't you keep a litter box for the cat?

  9. My grandmother told me this trick: Mix 1 part vinegar, 1 part Ivory Dishwashing Liquid & 2 parts ammonia. Scrub with a bristle brush. It works, but only in that combination & it MUST be Ivory Dishwashing Liquid. I don't know why, but it does! You will have to shop vac or steam clean to remove the soapy residue from the "home brew" though. Good luck, b/c cat pee is the worst!

  10. just smear something worse like dog S**t all over it. you wont even notice the pee smell anymore.

  11. use this procedure:

repeat as necessary, flush out with water in between treatments.  Be sure to flush with cold water thoroughly afterwards, absorb all excess water with a towel, then allow the carpet to dry by placing a fan on the area.

  12. Try Natures Miracle, it is specifically made to clean stain and odor from carpets and other surfaces that are made by animals, it works really well, and it is guaranteed to work or your money back you can pick it up at your local pet store.
