I know that you need to make pandoras battery and you need a magic memory stick. But i recently tried a command prompt that is supposed to change a regular memory stick into a magic one using vista. I followed every step on the prompt untill it said something and press any key to continue and when i did it just closed the prompt. But when i look at my psp it still says that the version is 4.05 so how do i check if i have a magic memory stick or if i did something wrong? Or do i need the pandora battery to make the changes visible?

  1. You have to have a Pandora's battery to put the PSP in service mode to be able to install the custom firmware....

Here I will give you a link.... This is a really good guide.

Or you can just be lazy and buy a kit.....
