How to get cheap trans atlantic flights?

Im in Dublin and want to fly to LA in August but the fares are too expensive.

I want to know the best way to get cheaper fares? Should I wait till the last minute or just take whats there now?

Any info is greatly appreciated!

being a courier will get you a cheaper ticket price, but you dont have checked baggage...wait until summer is over and the prices will fall

Waiting until the last minute is usually the most expensive way to fly. Discount fares typically have advance purchase requirements and airlines limit the number of discount seats that they make available. If you wait, you risk that the discount seats will sell out. If you miss the advance purchase requirement, the fare starts going up dramatically.

Waiting until the last minute almost guarantees that you will have to pay full price. If you think the current price is expensive, wait until you see that!
