they would need:

name (which i know)

address

d.o.b.

place of employment

and ss #

he wants a paternity test, but it would cost 250.up front in cash

(which i doubt he would want to pay)

BUT...

if i file for child support (which then i need his personal imfo)

the court will order the test in which they pay until he is proven...

crazy process...but i am sure it is all worth it in the end...but which path should i take?

  1. Go to child support,I pay child support and the people I have talk to are great.they can get all of the information for you. They will also set up how much he should pay each month.

  2. For the first person that answered, keep those kind of opinions to yourself.  She is asking a valid question and doesn't need your judgement.

Now, for the question.  If you pay for the paternity test and he is in fact the father, I'm almost (almost) certain that he will have to pay you back or at least pay half of the test.  If you file for child support, you should be able to give the name of his employer and the child support office and his employer can negotiate the rest of the information needed. Or you could give the child support office his telephone # and they can contact him directly. If you have his telephone # you can do a reverse lookup to find his address, unless it's a cell phone.  You might want to double check this, but it's not common for a mother to not know the fathers social security # and I'm sure they have ways to find it.  I would suggest the paternity test first, because in the event that he is not the father and he is paying you support, you might have to pay it all back to him.  I'm not sure how this works, but I would opt for the test anyway, just to be certain.

  3. go to child support with the information that you have and they should be able to help you figure out the rest. and idk where you are from but if he requests a paternity test through child support he would have to pay it just like he pays child support but only if the baby is his if not you will have to pay for it
