How to get driver's license while GC process pending?

I live in Louisiana. My GC process is still pending and DMV rejected my application. It's a hurricane season here and I need driver's license just for emergency. Can anyone really help me in this? Do I call DMV again or USCIS?

Have you got a valid visa to be in the USA?  What visa are you on? You need a valid visa to apply for a DL.

in florida you can use your receipts from the paperwork filed with immigration to obtain a temporary license.

unfortunately i am not sure if this will work in louisiana since all states seem to have different policies.

did you ask them why it was rejected and what you needed in order for it to be approved?  if not...call them---the DMV---and ask them for assistance, they should be very helpful.
