How to get film onto movie maker?

I like putting my own music over films such as titanic, and making little videos for youtube. I always film the tv screen with a video camera and then transfer it ontothe pc. Is there any programme I can use, if I put a dvd straight into the pc, to get film clips onto movie maker? Hope this makes sense.

Well, you probably wouldn't be able to as some dvds are put into different formats to prevent copyright breaches etc.

However you could try going into 'my computer', and right clicking on the drive where the dvd is inserted, and 'explore' the files in there.

If the dvd contains one .avi file, or several, then you will be able to insert those files into Movie Maker.
