Question:

How to get from Luton Int. Airport to Central London?

Hi everyone,

I'm travelling to London with a friend in October to see the NFL game there.

We are flying from Berlin to Luton International Airport and staying at the Shaftesbury Premier London Paddington.

I have been looking for ways from Luton to Central London online, but most companies only give information for trips within the next three months.

I would like to know if anyone has experiences with the different companies and / or can recommend the best / fastest / cheapest way from Luton to London, if possible directly to Paddington station.

Since I'm flying with Easyjet, Green Line offers me a 13,50 Pound Return journey from Luton to Baker Street. Does anyone know how long the ride would take?

Any help is appreciated, thank you!

  1. Luton is not that far from central london but the only thing is london is like a big ar park i.e u dont move much and that could add to your journey time. Best thing to do is to catch a train u will get there much quicker. I dont live far from luton if u want i could give you a lift. it only takes about 20mins by car.

  2. I would go with the coach journey... it is only about 60-90 mins by coach plus they leave every 15mins from the airport.  There are no trains from the airport you have to get a shuttle bus to Luton Parkway station where you can get a train to King's Cross St Pancras.  There are trains every 5-10mins but a return will cost you about £25.  Baker street is closest to Paddington and St Pancras is very very busy.  Whatever you decide to do have fun!

  3. yeah don't get a bus... jump on a train instead.

From Luton Airport jump on a shuttle bus to Luton Airport Parkway station... from there it's not far on a First Capital Connect train to London, stay on it until you get to Kings Cross / St Pancras and change for the Underground.  You'll need to get a Circle or Hammersmith & City Line train Westbound towards Paddington, which shouldn't take long at all.

  4. Jump on the train simple. Very good service into Central London

  5. all your options are here:

    the coach takes 65-85 minutes

you can either get the train to Kings Cross and just take a taxi to Paddington or use the tube, but of course the tube isnt door to door. Or take the easy shuttle to Baker Street and again use the tube or a taxi.

  6. Whatever you do, don't take the bus!  Luton is not in London, it's in Luton and why they call it London Luton is beyond me.  You can take a train from Luton Airport Parkway to London St. Pancras (near Kings Cross).  It takes 33 minutes.  A bus could take a couple of hours or more depending on time of day.  If you then want to get to Paddington get on the tube and take the circle line westbound from Kings Cross to Paddington (about 10 minutes including walking).

  7. I agree with pedro. The best way to central London would be on the train and then from central London it is eay to get wherever you want to go by using the tube, so you could easily get to your hotel.

  8. There is a coach that travels between the two, I think it goes to Victoria and you can get anywhere from there, coaches are much cheaper than trains and cabs.

Have a good time,  watch out for pickpockets on the tubes,

This is advise from a Londoner.
