How to get good grades in High School?

I'm going to be a Sophomore (grade 11) in the fall, and I do really want to get good grades, since I've always been a C student. I want to prove my parents, and all my friends that I'm actually smart, but sometimes you know how you're not really motivated to get into your school work, and you just want to slack off, and sleep in classes. How do you get good grades? However, the only problem is, I quite bit have a history with my teachers, you can say I was pretty headstrong. Any suggestions? Any help would be greatly appreciated ! I'm a girl by the way.

  2. Well, I am a straight A student, and I do all my homework, study, and pay attention in class... whoa! Get a good night's sleep (at least 8 hours a night) and eat a healthy breakfast. also, do any extra credit work that you can... even if you don't like the idea of it, sucking up is a good idea.

  3. Study.  Take well Notes.  Some Schools offer classes on good note taking.  Listen very well.  Get Good Sleep. And Eat A good Breakfast.  Always turn Homework in on time.

  4. It will be hard, but you can do it if you want.

You might want to sit in the front of the class so you aren't tempted to sleep or get distracted.  You might focus more, and the teachers will notice that you are paying attention.

Next, you should take notes.  Don't write down everything, but you should copy down anything the teacher writes on the board and circle words you don't know.  Look them up in the dictionary later, or ask a teacher or a smart friend what they mean.

Finally, do your homework and study (review your notes) at least once a week to review for tests.  I hope this helps!

By the way, when I was in high school, a sophomore was 10th grade, but maybe it is different where you live.
