I don't want to post in the newspaper and get just "anybody"... I need ideas of places/businesses I can walk in and post a bulletin to get a better class of business. (kwim)..I live near a lake with lots of "high dollar" weekend homes and most of the owners are from out of town. How can I get word to them about lakehouse/home cleaning?

  1. Try putting leaflets through houses and set up your own web page.

In UK  you can charge around £5-£6 per hour

  2. i think you can try for it in

    http://www.new-parttimejob.blogspot.com

  3. You might want to hook up with a real estate agent who is familiar with the target area of your choice. He or she can conveniently recommend you to future or even current clients...

You might also want to find out where your target group would hang out most often, their favorite shops etc. and post your ads there. Some places allow you to post for free! Just ask the manager and perhaps you'll get extra help =)

Contractors who are not your competition but do things related to home maintenance, renovation, interior designs etc. They might have a list of ready clients for you to connect with. Do some mutual exchange. You can only stand to gain.

As to what you should charge, you can do some price testing. Start with standard market rate. If demand is high, raise the price accordingly and adjust according to the response you get. Do be afraid to ask or survey what your clients feel is a reasonable price they're willing to pay for your services.

    Wishing you every success!
