Hi everyone. I am looking for some advice on becoming a masseuse, I have also been interested in alternative therapies but never known how to get into them and now that I am settled in a good job and have some spare evenings I was looking for advice on how to get into this area of work.

I require full training, courses etc and need to find out where to start. If someone could give me some advice I would really appreciate it.

I live inbetween Leeds and Wakefield in West Yorkshire England so am looking for courses around that area.

Please if anyone can help I would really appreciate it.

Thank you in advance

  1. It's advisable to take up a Diploma in Holistic Massage either with ITEC or CIBTAC. The basic technique of all massages comes from Ling massage or commonly known as Swedish massage. If you are interested in aromatherapy, IFA or IFPA will be prefered. The pre-requisite is that you need to know Swedish massage. Not to worry if you don't wish to obtain a Diploma in Holistic Massage because it's included when you do a course in Diploma in Holistic Aromatherapy. All these institutes are internationally recognised.
