How to get into motorsport as a driver?

You might have seen my other question about being a NASCAR driver, but I know thats gonna take a while to happen.

I wanna start racing, and I want to start today. I've seen the Ginetta junior championship, but thats too expensive for me to get into.

I'm 15. We don't have any money. I don't know what to do. I really need to get into motorsport. I need some guidance and some help.

You don't know how desperate I am to start racing.

I will be willing to drive for anyone for free.

I know this is a long shot, but if there is anyone out there looking for a driver, please do not hesitate to contact me : crcn88@gmail.com

I am based near Knockhill.

Can anyone help? Please? Thank you.

  1. Find a team that will let you help around the pits. Once you know what goes into getting a car set up and show you're willing to work at it you'll be better prepared to try it. This will give you a chance to meet lots of racing people and for them to get to know you. Race cars are expensive and not many owners will let a stranger hop in one just because they really want to.

Once you've made some connections, you're chances of getting a chance go WAAAY up.

  2. Unfortunately kid, racing is money. I would go looking for sponsors. If you're as hungry to race as you claim you are, get a handful of sponsors and get into it.
