  1. Pretty much the same way as go kart racing. Buy a dirt bike(Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Yamaha, KTM), Buy some safety gear, Buy some extra parts, Practice, Practice, Practice and when your think your ready go and sign up and race.

    Good Luck

  2. By a used bike but test ride it before you buy it.

Check the net for local tracks near you.

  3. buy a bike and go to local races see how you do and see if you will be good enough for national races you will know after your first moto if dirtbiking is for you if you love it or if you hate it this sport will consume all of your time so dont expect to do anyothers you have to work out train ride all the time and read and watch movies books about races and watch their techniques it all sounds had but dont let this get you out of the sport i do it 24/7 and I LOVE IT!!!

  4. http://www.transworldmotocross.com/mx/se...

read all about the tips you need there. there is a ton of info for bike prep to riding technique.....

  5. Join a local Motocross club and if you don't have a licence find out from the secretary of the club what is required to get one.  In Australia if you are junior you have to do 5 hours of training before applying for a licence to race and if you are a senior who has never held a licence you have to do a course to enable you to get one.  Unlike the juniors who have to do 5 hours of coaching every year the seniors once they have their licence only need to renew it yearly.  Of course it is most likely different where you are so ask the club secretary and they will have the documents you need to apply.  Before purchasing a bike speak to members of the club and find out what sections they run so you don't buy  the wrong bike.  Do practise days before attempting to race so you can see how you go against others in the same section.

  6. I'm assuming you are at least 12 and have a local motocross track. Buy a used 125 cc two stroke that runs well. Find a large open area to ride around and get comfortable with the bike and how it handles. Starting, stopping and turning. Pay for some track time and start riding the local track. Pick the best way (line) around the track. Watch the weekend racers to see how they are doing it. During this period you need to be doing tons of pushups, sit-ups and road work (running). Once you feel that you can ride with the local racers, enter a race and start your training.
