How do you get maple syrup out of a carpet?

Does anyone have any suggestions about specific cleaners you would use?

I'm subletting an apartment and I NEED to get this stain out or I'm screwed :/

hot soapy water should do it are rent a steam clearer

Use a wet washcloth and a steam iron to loosen the syrup.  Make sure that the washcloth is larger that the iron.  The steam will be enough heat for it to liquify and collect on to the washcloth.  It works, I know from experience with this and wax.

1001 carpet cleaner in a bottle with a trigger handle. Spray the foam on the stain and leave it to dry, then hoover it up. Job done.
