  1. He needs to find out from his church what the requirements are to get married in the eyes of the church. The answer is most likely that you would have to convert.

If you just want a Christian-styled wedding, you can certainly do that. There are interfaith ministers and nondenominational officiants who marry people in a ceremony of their choosing. So you could have a traditional Christian-style wedding (i.e., western style), and depending on what the officiant is willing to do, you can incorporate parts of his beliefs and your beliefs (although there will be no Catholic mass).

You will have to discuss this with him. How important is it to him to have a marriage recognized by his church? How important is it to you to marry him, even if it means compromising your beliefs?

  2. Try to integrate bot in your wedding a lot of people do this now. I hope this helped. I hope your wedding is all you dreamed of!

  3. Bad news for you.  Since he's catholic you can't have your ceremony in a catholic church without you converting.  And if it's not in a catholic church done by a catholic priest it's like he's not even married at all.  His family will think you're living in sin.  Unless they're of a more open minded branch of catholics.  On the other hand, there are plenty of other types of Christians that are not Catholics that wouldn't mind you having your ceremony with them.  You just have to find the right one.

  4. EDIT

This is the situation in England and Wales.

(scroll down to the bottom of the page for this)

If you are marrying a non-baptised person or someone from another religion, a dispensation is required from the bishop’s office, but this is normally granted on the parish priest’s recommendation.

  5. You go to his priest and talk to him. There is a specific marriage rite for RC's marrying non-Christians. You will have to agree to let him raise the kids RC, and you will be required to do all the same pre-marital counselling that you would do if you were both RC, plus (potentially) some extra sessions. It varies by location - a lot of people on here say that you can't get married in the Catholic church unless you convert, so obviously there are some places still stuck pre-Second Vatican Counsel. We can't be more help without knowing where you are. Your fiance's pastor on the other hand, can give you more advice.

  6. Nothing different in both you can marry

  7. each of you pick something really special to you that happens in each ceremony and just make your own ceremmony.. that way you get both religions in there but it's special and unique.

  8. elope to reno

  9. I don't think a Catholic church will acknowledge a marriage not performed there.  Not being Catholic, I won't even try to answer that part.  If it doesn't matter to him if it isn't in a Catholic church find a non-denominational church that will perform your ceremony, or have a minister perform a religious service at the location of your choosing.

    best wishes.

  10. you can find a Christian minister or pastor from a Christian church to marry you at your location. There are many types of Christianity that are not Catholic: Methodist, Baptist, Lutherin, Nazarene...etc. There are also non-donominational churches. All these options will be much easier than Catholic.

I was Catholic and my husband wasn't. He didn't want to convert. So we found a Nazarene Pastor and he came to our wedding location at the country club.

  11. Well, since he's roman catholic...you're going to have to go through a lot of stuff pertaining to raising your kids catholic

I don't remember what else would happen.
