How to get more explosive srength when you're jumping?

i think i have all the muscles and everthing. i think im lacking explosiveness.

  1. Although you do have to be careful and quit if you feel pain, jumping with weight belts around your torso can really help.


  2. one technique that my coach taught me that really helps is to power dribble: post up, catch the ball, take ONE really hard dribble using BOTH hands, n explode up. the power dribble creates momentum and gives u more explosiveness.

    another technique is to drive hard to da rim, jump stop (while in the air, squeeze the ball hard. land on both feet.), n explode up.

  3. well im not sure if this will help or not but I do varsity long jump at my school and a technique we use to get liftoff is to bring the non jumping leg up along with your chest so all your momentum is heading upwards and your speed carries you the rest of the distance

    also doing alot of squat jumps can improve explosiveness if you do them correctly

  4. well first work on a couple of things: strength in your calfs, strength in your thighs, and FOOTWORK. If you have the first two, then footwork is very important. You want to always stay low and really push on your dominant foot to get that first explosive push.
