How to get more friends on myspace for more publicity?

I am trying to get more friends and more views. i private my profile so I could get more friends, but maybe if i set it for everyone to see I would get more friends. Do anyone know any good strategies?I also set my messages to private so only my friends can send them. is this good?

Peeps Depot (http://www.peepsdepot.com) is a friend train site.  Its different from the traditional 'w***e' sites that just get random adds.  You can find other people to add as friends with the same interests as you or add friends in the same business or hobby as you to network with.  Newer trains move more slowly than the more established ones, and the narrower the interest the slower the train goes.  And if they don't have a train within your interest or hobby, you can contact them and they will make it.
