  1. Well it depends how deep do you want to go. If you need to learn it for emails and chatting, I suggest heading to the nearest cybercafe. The guys are pretty helpful and will tell you the basics.

If you want more in depth knowledge, head to a primary low cost programming course in NIIT (if you are in India). See if you like it. If you do, get a computer for yourself and an internet connection. The information superhighway is exactly that - source of boundless knowledge.

    Best of luck

  2. You can gain a bunch of savvy right here on answers.

  3. What type of answers? Hardware questions? Software questions? Google your specific questions and you will find answers to just about anything.

  4. check for information online, or if u are really serious enrol in a IT course.

  5. The way I learned was by experimenting. I've done this since I was a kid, and crashed a few computers, but I learned A LOT! It actually helps. Also, I learn just by typing in any questions I currently have, and I find other people who've already asked, and I get answers. Most of the time from forums, sometimes from Yahoo. There's also a book called "The Dictionary of Computing" which is a dictionary of computer terms. I taught myself HTML from some books, so you could try that too.

  6. It all depends on what you want to do?

Telecommunication (Connection to WWW or another location)?

    Networking (Routers and Switches)?

Information Assurance (Firewalls, Antivirus, Intrusion Detection/Prevention)?

    Domain (Domain Controllers, DNS)?

    Exchange (eMail)?

    IIS or Web?

    Databases (SQL, Oracle, Access)?

    Fixing Computer?

Each one of these will take you down a different path!  No one person can know them all completely... However, the more you know the better you are at fixing problems since most are multifacited, YET usually involve some stupid cable somewhere!

  9. Read about it. It's what more people should do rather than having other people figure out answers for them.

  10. I think experience is the best way to learn.

  12. Definitely practice/play and most of all be inquisitive!

Take apart, read up & re-assemble. If you can assemble something again after breaking it apart, then you making the understanding portion so much more easier. This makes you more knowledgeable

Golden Rule: Never fix what's not BROKEN.

If you can try and imagine how something works (in any facit in life), then you will become great @ whatever you want to do.
