Question:

How to get more launch on drives???

Is it at all normal to set up the drive with the clubhead about 6 inches behind the teed up ball? This is what I'm having to do to get the ball in the air with a 10 degree standard flex graphite driver... of course I'm opening the clubhead to compensate for prolonged impact and avoid hooking. I've sure I've got the clubhead speed but I can't seem to strike the ball with upward impact unless I move the ball up in stance and set the head about 6 inches behind it. Any more tips???

  1. TRy to focus on your target. Move the ball higher on the tee. And be sure to swing in to out.

  2. Here's just a small taste of what you'll discovered:

Exactly what to do with your driver right before impact that will enable you to hit the ball with maximum distance and carry.

A simple secret that will accelerate your clubhead to it's maximum speed during the swing. Gene simply said that once he mastered this one secret he started winning more and more tournaments with ease. In fact, no one becomes pro without first mastering this one secret.

The real secret to launching long, accurate straight drives. Distance doesn’t mean a thing if you don’t have the control to go with it. This one simple secret will give you controlled power.

The two most important body positions you should be in during the swing. (These two positions must be studied carefully for maximum impact).

  3. putting the tee higher does not make the ball flight go higher. yout should tee up about 1 and 3-4. second you should adjust your grip so its not so strong and finally you might want to play the ball of your frint foot.

  4. when you strike the ball, you need to position your body like you are skipping a rock in order to get under the ball with your swing, but not lose distance. depending on how far your drives are going, it doesn't matter if they are high, it just looks good

  5. put the tee up higher. it helps with me but i like to hit low shots because it goes farther.
