My daughter won't wear her glasses. I've tried to bribe her but to no avail. She says she can see better and don't need to wear them. The optician told me if she don't wear them she will end up with two lazy eyes and a squint. Her older brother puts them on and she says he can wear them I'm not

  1. If she say she can see better without then they be a wrong prescription. I would get a second opinion from other optician. This happened with my daughter. After getting the right prescription she will keep them on. Hope this will help you out.

  2. When I was little, I never wanted to wear my glasses.  My babysitter's husband was my very favorite person and he started to tell me that if I wore my glasses, I could be his girl, if I didn't, he ignored me.  He would do anything I asked as long as I had the glasses on.  Reward your daughter when she wears them, it will quickly become a habit.

  3. My son started wearing his glasses at 2 years old.  Put a strap on them that is tight on the head like on swimming goggles and make her wear them and then when she is used to them then remove the strap.   You have to make her wear them.  My son has amblyopia and strabismus.  Lazy eye and loss of vision in his left eye.  He had surgery at age 6 for it, but it still crosses when he doesn't wear his glasses.   Also, found out he doesn't have binocular vision. So when the schools do testing on your daughter they may tell you she failed her binocular vision test.  It is very common for kids with lazy eye to not have this. You can ask your opthmamologist about this.  Oh yah, he is 9 now. But the doctor said he is one who will always have to wear his glasses.

  4. Who's in charge, you or her?  This is something that isn't an option.  You shouldn't be bribing her.  You should be disciplining her when she disobeying you.  If she needs to take medicine that would save her life and it tasted nasty, would you bribe her to take it and let her choose OR would you make her take it?  This is no different.  There needs to be discipline involved for her disobedience or she will have lazy eye.

    God Bless.
