  1. work harder. show her that you fightign to get better. ask questions. come early to class and practice. make sure u listen to her alot. my dance teacher likes me naturally becuase i work my *** off and im pretty much the only person with passion, personality and stage presence in my class. but he comes to me wen he goes over combinations. i assistant teach a younger ballet class and he lets me pick what i liek best out of the coreography he makes up. he like hates the other girl.

  2. AT least a teacher favors you. None of my teachers favor me cuz I'm simply not up to that level yet. And even if we do something perfectly we might not even get a compliment. So don't be greedy and ask for more, when you are fortunate.

  3. Work harder and perform better than everyone else in the class.

  4. I am very sorry if my answer hurts your feeling. It is most certainly not intended that way - however - the fact that you are confident stating that you do REALLY good suggests to me that you may not need to hear more compliments.

In my class when a dancer starts to believe that she is really good - I find that she doesn't work as hard. This is not something I approve of or encourage and I rarely compliment these dancers. The dancers that have my attention are those that are truly passionate about ballet and who are focused 100% on their dance, their expression of the music and what they can do to make themselves better.

  5. Just remember all the tips she gives you and remember to apply them all the time. If she asks for someone to demonstrate something, volunteer. And take any criticism nicely. And make sure your posture shows that you are paying attention. While she is talking don't lean on one hip, don't yawn, and don't let your mind wander. Hope these tips help. Just give 110% =]

  6. You know what? I was in your same situation just a few weeks ago where I wish I got more compliments. But the just recently another girl and I became the teachers of one of the younger classes and my teacher explained to us how the younger classes need a lot of compliments but she feels that us older dancers kind of motivate ourselves so she doesn't give as many compliments. just because she doesn't compliment you as much doesn't mean she thinks you're any less of a person or a dancer. it just means that she knows you are self-motivated. that in itself is a compliment. but if its worrying you, I suggest you talk with her about it.

  7. honestly from experience you really don't want thousands of complimants. Mopst teachers have a favourite one or two dancers which they pick on the most. But its not picking on them, they just think they've got the most potential and so they push them harder. in my experience teachers usually throw the most comliments to those who need the extra encouragement-not nessesarily the ones who deserve it. while regular compliments are good for you, you really should push to have your teacher give you more corrections and pointers. When you get tehm, you need to apply them right away or else teachers will get bored so to speak of you and will move to the next  person with possibly more potential than you . not to say theyre forgettting you or anyone else, but deep inside each teacher knows who in the class has the most potential and works them extra hard with more pointers and corrections than anyone else. Sounds weird i no. I used to get picked on alllll the time in every single class i ever took, anywhere. i took me  a while to figure out that it was actually a really good thing. now i got accepted to one of the best schools in the country!  good luck to you-work hard and absorb like a sponge!
