I have a dell laptop [inspiron|E1505] and i want to have the screen display on my television. its a pioneer plasma. My computer is connected to a wire which is connected to the television. I know this so far is correct because this is what i saw my brother do the other night. On the remote for my television there is alot of imputs. PC has its own input...when i hit that button the message that appears on the tv is no input signal. Do i need to do something on my computer? or am i doing something completley wrong? help me out!!

  1. it depends on the video card on your computer if you are using the vga which would be pc input you have to go into display properties and choose dual monitor support or if you hook up your tv directly to your tv  without a monitor it should show up check your inputs and make sure u are using vga and not s-video and if you are then change your input to your s-video input.

  2. On Dell laptops you need to hold the "Function" key down and press "F8" to make the VGA connector put out a signal.  A little display may come up on the laptop screen - keep pressing "F8" until the little picture of the laptop and a monitor is highlighted.
