Question:

How to get my grey leather car seats back to original color?

We swam in a pool and forgot to put towels on our seats for the ride home. Now, it looks like we "bleached" the seat where we sat from the chlorine water in our bathing suit. What can we do to get the leather back to the original color? Creams/lotions etc?

  1. Might want to pick up some leather cleaner/conditioner and go to work on the leather asap. The brand does not really matter since I have used a couple of them and all have been pretty decent. I had to use one to remove jean stains on a lighter color leather and was able to do it.

  2. Creams, conditioners and lotions will do nothing to restore the colour.  You have bleached the leather and the colour will now need professionally replacing.

Easy Colour is a professionally produced product that can sometimes reduce the problem but this will depend on how dark a colour the grey was originally.  If this does not work then you will have to use pigment colours mixed to match your leather and then reapply a finish to seal it.
