How to get my ipod touch wifi to pick up my wireless network? It finds it but says, "unable to join network"?

I want to be able to use my wireless internet connection for my ipod touch but can't for the life of me figure out how to. when i look up my "Wi-Fi Networks" it shows my "Dlink Network" in the sources. but when i try to use it, it shows "Unable to join the network 'Dlink Network' ".
