  1. Check out travel.state.gov and look on the right hand side of the page for Children's Issues. There's a section on abduction you should take a long look at. Look for the phone number of the Abduction Unit of the Children's Issues Section of the Overseas Citizens Services Bureau at the Department of State, and give them a call on Monday.

  2. Contact the US embassy directly by phone and seek the assistance and advice of an American Consular Officer.  The embassy will also be able to provide you with a list of local attorneys if you need one.

NOTE: If you are calling from the U.S., please dial 011 + 504 + telephone or fax number.

** All Consular sections will be closed the first Tuesday of every month.

  3. The mother is a Honduran citizen, therefore the kids have a right to Honduran citizenship.  She can get them Honduran passports.  Even if you are an American citizen, the kids are not -- they are dual nationals with rights to the same citizenship as either one of their parents.

Letter from a notary?  That's useless.  Are you and the mother married?  Were you?  If you are divorced and were granted full custody, you still can only enforce it as long as mother & kds are in the US.  A US court order does not necessarily have any effect in foreign countries.

If you were never married, and the mother has taken the kids to her country of citizenship, you have nothing to say about it.  And if she was here illegally, she cannot come back.

If she takes them to some other country, not her country of citizenship, the State Dept child abduction unit might be able to help.  But not when the mother is not a US citizen and the kids have a right to citizenship in her country.

  4. The first thing you do is call the police. That is called Kidnapping.

They will take it from there.

What is up with these crazy answers people?????

Some of you obviously don't have children.

If my children's other parent took them even out of state and kept them past the agreed time even one day, I would be going crazy seeing what I could do about it.

First I would call the other parent and find out what is going on.

But since these children are out of the country, there is no way you are going to be able to take the mother's word if she says they are just sick or they don't want to go home or whatever excuse she gives.

Call the police, call immigration, call the local tv news network.

Or, you could just go get them. If you don't want to leave the country, get someone that you trust that can do it for you.

I would be all over that if I were you.

Do you talk to your kids on the phone?

Or are they wondering...why haven't I heard from dad?

Maybe they are thinking right now...I want to go home already

and their mother is feeding them a line.

But if you go there, or if someone goes for you, don't let them know, because the mother will hide them.

  5. Watch the movie "Not without my Daughter" seriously!!!

If it was me I would do what she did.  No one would steal my kids.  I would be in ther with whatever means needed to get them and get to the embassy.  act now
