  1. networkrail connect.

A site with jobs listings for railwork. (offtrack etc)

if selected, they automatically put you through the pts./coss/picop etc

  2. Hi Shaun

The route is to register with a agency, as PTS needs to be sponsored, ie a firm to says you work for them.

there are many rail jobs and agencies, ever more now NR are struggling to complete some projects, also note there is a re-org in NR this March - June where over 170 will made reduduant, mostly experienced maintenance staff, so get it sorted soon as they will be doing the same.

    good luck

  3. You need to apply to any of the rail companies that require Safety Critical Staff, they will train you in PTS and train you to perform whatever job you require, however PTS is not normally transferable between companies and many will sit you through the exam to ensure you are competant.

  4. Your local college should be able to advise you on PTS courses or contact network rail HR department.

  5. I got mine through Clemtech Rail (Engineering Agency).

Kevan M - I don't know where you got your information from put a current PTS is transferable to which ever job you are on. Also, all Rail jobs are now classed as Safety Critical and are Zero tolerance with respect to alcohol and illegal drugs, as well as many freely available non-prescription medications.
