i know that sounds like a weird question, but my bunny doesn't seem to realize that the bits of apple i try to give to her are food. i even try to put them in with the rest of her food, but she still doesn't eat it. how can i make her realize that they are eatable?

  1. Maybe she doesn't like the smell of them. Most rabbits don't eat treats when they are supposed to because of many reasons:

They smell human scent on the apples

The apples are not fresh enough

They don't know what the apples are

    They don't like apples

    I hope this helps!

Also, try carrots. Most of the time rabbits like carrots better then apples.

  2. I take veggie treats to the shelter bunnies several times a week.  A small amount of spinach, cilantro (which is plentiful now), parsley, a few nubs of carrot several times a week.  I did take an apple once and none of the bunnies was interested in that.

Fruit must be given in moderation.  Maybe she would like a strawberry or a couple of slices of banana once in a while.  Peaches are plentiful now - try a slice of that.

  3. maybe she doesnt like the smell or taste of apple ry giving her a couple more options then just apple

  4. If she doesn't eat it then she more than likely doesn't like it. Something they usually really like is something like lettuce, carrots, or grass.
