How to get my stomach to stop growling in the middle of class?

i eat a good sized breakfast every day but lunch is really late in my school. we're not allowed to eat snacks, chew gum, mints, or anything like that.

what can i do to stop my stomach from growling in the middle of class?

  1. something that seems to generally help me is lots and lots of water, as suggested in the comments above. Another thing to try is if you feel like your stomach is going to growl, try and relax. Push your stomach against your desk, or slouch over, because both tend to quiet the growl. I used to pinch my stomach muscles and hold my stomach, but that actually doesn't work. In fact, both compress the gasses building up inside of you and makes the growl even louder! So, here's what i suggest to you:


    water, raw vegetables, crackers, maybe cut back on the dairy, slouch, and relax.


    I don't like the people who say "oh it's just a growling stomach! don't get so strung up about it! everyone's does once in awhile" because it's SO emberrassing when the only thing you can hear in the middle of class is that d**n rumble. It happens to me every day in the most quiet class i have, which freaking sucks.
