I'm training for 5 km races and I want to drop my time of 20 which is my average to hopefully 16 but I would settle for 17 at the moment.I haven't ran in two years (i'm 16) and just started up i would say maybe a month ago. I run everynight 5.5 km and this is more so training and im averaging about 20 minutes and I know for a fact if i was to compete in a race my time would be better because i compete better in front of people.I want to finish first in a race and by looking at alot of 5km race results I will need a time of atleast 16-17 minutes. So how can i do this? (NOTE: I think i've always been a good runner I mean two years ago I finished 1st in city cross country. And i'm nowhere near top condition at this moment but i'm starting to see muscle improvement in my legs, etc. I think if i'm in top shape I can achieve this.)I just want to know how should I be training? What should I eat before running and how long before? Is it possible?
