How to get my time from 20.00 - 16.00 seconds?

I'm training for 5 km races and I want to drop my time of 20 which is my average to hopefully 16 but I would settle for 17 at the moment.

I haven't ran in two years (i'm 16) and just started up i would say maybe a month ago. I run everynight 5.5 km and this is more so training and im averaging about 20 minutes and I know for a fact if i was to compete in a race my time would be better because i compete better in front of people.

I want to finish first in a race and by looking at alot of 5km race results I will need a time of atleast 16-17 minutes.

So how can i do this?

(NOTE: I think i've always been a good runner I mean two years ago I finished 1st in city cross country. And i'm nowhere near top condition at this moment but i'm starting to see muscle improvement in my legs, etc. I think if i'm in top shape I can achieve this.)

I just want to know how should I be training?

What should I eat before running and how long before?

Is it possible?

  1. If the 5k is in the morning eggs for breakfast and pasta for dinner the night before, and to improve your time, practicing is the best way. Remember practice makes perfect!
