I am a 15 year old teenager. I usually get my hair permed all the time, and since school was starting I was going to get it nicely done. But instead i washed it. I really would like to go to school with really nice hair and straight but I do need a touch up really bad. Is their any recommendations of what I should do?

  1. try to flat iron an curl its if that doesnt work go back to old ways hot comb it

  2. you should flat iron it with a really goog flat iron! then get the sides with a hot comb

  3. This is where knowing what products works best for your hair comes in handy. I used to stretch my perms out a lot and what I would do was wash my hair, condition it as usual and then use a curling iron on the permed parts to make it shinier and straighter looking. On my new growth I would make sure it was well moisturized so it didn't look so nappy. I took care of my new growth so well that I had people fooled into thinking there wasn't 4 inches of new growth and I was long overdue for my perm. I used to a product called Royal Crown Castor Oil on my hair before I went to bed and I'd wake up in the morning and my hair would be much straighter and shinier than it was before. If you are going to stretch your perms (go longer than normal before you get a touch-up) then I suggest that you keep your new growth well moisturized during the process.

I don't know about you, but I used to wash my hair the night before I went in for a touch up to get it untangled (I'm tender-headed and don't want the beautician pulling and tugging at my hair to put in the perm) and the only time I had a problem with burning was if I scratched before hand. But I might be more of the exception than the rule.

I don't have any of these problems anymore because I cut off all my permed hair and went back to my natural hair texture.

  4. you could always scrunch it if you have time to do that in the mornings, or you could get a roller set! DO NOT use a hot comb on your hair. if you have permed hair it will burn it!!!!
