How to get on a media junket/get interviews for radio?

as i prepare each month my podcast i would like to do interviews. how do i get on a list of people that others can contact about getting people on my show. who do i need to contact? is there a website? also i have a huge show coming up and i need to promote it so how do i go about getting onto a media junket for myself? i plan on doing a press release soon and need to know who i would go about getting that out to people so i can be interviewed.

I assume you're talking about people who are important or newsworthy in some way.  No, they don't post their availability on a website.  They make themselves available when a legitimate media representative asks them.  All celebrities already know about newspapers, radio stations and TV stations, and even then, they don't automatically agree to all interview requests.  Whether they'd appear on a podcast depends on whether anybody listens to it.  If it's an authoritative podcast that everyone listens to, your chances are great.  If it's like most of the ones I've heard, your chances are zero.  

    As for going on a "media junket," first establish yourself as a credible member of the media with some expertise on the subject that the "junket" is about, then be prepared to pay your own way.

    As for preparing a press release, do something that makes yourself worth interviewing and the requests will start coming in by themselves.
